Beach Shelter

Planning that next get-together with family or friends?

Why not have it at the Edgewater Beach shelter? It’s great for parties and meetings. Plus, you won’t have to travel very far. The facility can seat up to 40 people comfortably and includes picnic tables, AC power outlets, overhead lighting, a wood-burning fireplace, and a portable toilet (in season).

Edgewater Beach Corporation (EBC) members are able to rent the beach shelter for a fee. If you are interested in renting the facility, please follow the instructions below.

If you are interested in becoming a member of EBC, please contact Donna Doyle at [email protected]

How to Reserve the Shelter:

  • Check to see if your date(s) is/are available by using the EBC website calendar.
  • Email EBC Recreation to submit a request to reserve the beach shelter for your event.
  • EBC Recreation will confirm member status and will reply accordingly.  This DOES NOT confirm your reservation.
  • Submit the following to Crystalle Bortnick (interim) at 233 Edgewater Drive:
    • Please make out two checks payable to Edgewater Beach Corporation and include the date of your event on both of your checks:
      • 1st check: $75 - nonrefundable rental fee
      • 2nd check: $75 - refundable deposit
    • A signed copy of the EBC Beach Shelter Rental Application and Agreement (this can be found as a PDF attachment at the bottom of this webpage)
  • Once payment and the signed agreement have been received, you will receive a confirmation email confirming your beach shelter reservation.
  • Following the event, a board member will inspect the property to ensure the shelter is left in good condition. If all is well, your $75 deposit check will be returned to you.
NOTE: The reservation is for the shelter only. EBC members and guests may still use the beach, pier, playground, and adjoining property.

Shelter Rules:

The EBC member reserving the beach shelter must be present during the entire event and is responsible for the group’s behavior, for any property damage, clean up and all trash removal at the end of the event – NOT THE NEXT DAY. You should bring your own trash and recycling cans/bags. You are responsible for emptying all trash and removing it from the beach area and taking it back to your home for pickup by the county at the end of the event.

If you use the fireplace, make sure the fire is extinguished before leaving the property.

All functions must conclude at 9:00 pm. Be mindful of noise as it carries over the river.

Please be sure to keep the gate closed during and after your event.
